“Link Building… Time-intensive. Frustrating. Sometimes confusing. Yet Unavoidable. Because ultimately, it’s still the trump card for higher rankings.”  From101 Ways to Build Link Popularity by Aaron Wall and Andy Hagans.

Search engine placement or pagerank is determinative of a website’s success or failure regardless of the quality of a website.  I’m sure you’ve noticed and wondered how a website for certain keywords ranks so high on Google’s search results.  Link popularity is a very important factor for all major search engines. If your web site doesn’t have good link popularity, it is very difficult to get good search engine rankings.

Static Pages or an Dynamic Links Script

Should you bother with integrating a link directory script into your website or should you simply insert reciprocal links in an unsorted list on static pages?  That all depends on whether or not you actually will have visitors browsing through these link pages.  For example, if you do not have any useful links for your readers for the subject/topic of your website, then you may want to simply use static pages and use your remaining time more wisely.

The following sites are link directories designed from open source scripts.
